It’s Not Too Late to Tackle Climate Change

That’s right, YOU.

But not just you. Me too.

And everyone we know needs to get on board fighting against climate change.

We can do it together.

Why?

The Survival Guide for Humanity

A few months ago the UN released what they’re calling "a survival guide for humanity."

We have to get going, we have to move quickly, and we have to do it responsibly.

According to UN chief António Guterres, we need to take an "everything, everywhere, all at once" approach to climate action. And we CAN.

It may be challenging, no, it will be challenging.

Time to End the Whack-a-Mole Against Climate Change

But if we adjust, we make changes now, it will be better and safer and cheaper and less deadly than if we continue to take a whack-a-mole approach to dealing with climate chaos.

We are a creative species — we just need to devote our creativity and motivation in the right direction.

Now is the Time for Action, by You and Me and Everyone We Know

In every way. And you need to tell your people: your clients, your guests, your students, your residents, everyone, so they can support you as you work to tackle climate change.

It’s good for you, for your people, for the health of people and our environment. It’s spectacular for business, for everyone, today and tomorrow.

Now is the time to act, to recognize that our individual and collective actions have an impact

10 Key Solutions Needed to Mitigate Climate Change

Below I’ve included a gorgeous graphic developed by the World Resources Institute depicting the Top Ten Ways to Mitigate Climate Change.

Let’s start with the word mitigate, just to be clear. To mitigate is to make something less severe or unpleasant.

If, as the UN asserts, we still can mitigate climate change, we have every responsibility as a species to undertake those efforts earnestly.

We don’t even have to figure out what to do — they’ve told us.

We need to:

  1. RETIRE coal plants

  2. INVEST in clean energy & efficiency

  3. RETROFIT & DECARBONIZE buildings

  4. DECARBONIZE cement, steel & plastics

  5. SHIFT to electric vehicles

  6. INCREASE public transport, biking & walking

  7. DECARBONIZE aviation & shipping

  8. HALT deforestation & RESTORE

  9. REDUCE food loss & waste & IMPROVE agricultural practices

  10. EAT more plants & less meat

As the UN Secretary General tells us, “We don’t have a moment to lose.”

So let’s get your Sustainability Stories out there today

If you’re working to make your town, your city, your business, or university more sustainable, you must tell that story.

How do people visit your business?

  • Your university?

  • Your stadium?

  • Your town?

  • Your city?

Do you tell them how to park their individual cars or do you let them know they can get there by sustainable modes of transportation?

Do you encourage them to walk or bike or take transit?

It’s time to make sustainable mobility the option you emphasize

  • To your clients

  • To your students

  • To your employees

  • To your visitors

  • To your residents

Amplify Your Sustainability Stories Now

**If you own a business and make a product or a service that doesn’t “compromise the ability of future generations to meet their own needs,” you need to make that clear and obvious.

You need to talk about it to your current and potential customers.

Sustainability Stories can help.

**If you run a city / city agency and are transforming the way people get around and make it easier for people to walk or bike and take transit, you need to sing that news: Let’s talk.

**If you develop housing or other real estate and are providing attractive amenities for those who want to reduce their emissions, we need to let EVERYBODY know.

It’s not too late to tackle climate change. We all need to play our part so get in touch today and let’s start transforming the world for the much better right now.
